  •  1 tablespoon sesame oil
  •  1/4 cup soy sauce
  •  1 orange juiced and tested
  •  1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  •  1/4 cup brown sugar
  •  1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  •  1 teaspoon garlic minced

Garnish:

  •  Orange zest
  •  Green onions sliced
  •  Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Slice the flank steak into 2-inch chunks or into longer, thinner strips across the grain.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together: soy sauce, orange juice, orange zest, grated ginger, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, and minced garlic. Whisk to combine and set aside.
  3. Add sesame oil to a medium cast iron pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Once the oil starts to simmer, add the sliced flank steak in one layer. Let it brown nicely for 1-2 minutes without turning it, after that, using tongs to turn beef on the other side to brown for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to low-medium and add the sauce to the pan.
  6. Stir to combine and let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes until it reduces in about half and it creates a sticky glaze.
  7. Serve the beef over rice.
  8. Garnish with fresh orange zest, green onions, and sesame seeds.
