Marinated Grilled Hot Dogs – the BEST hot dogs we’ve ever eaten!!! Cut slits in the hot dogs and marinate in a combination of chili sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, mustard,….. Easy to double or triple for a crowd! Great for cookouts and tailgating. Can freeze any leftovers!

INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 cup chili sauce
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1-1/2 Tbsp mustard
- 1 T brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 8 hot dogs
- 8 hot dog buns
INSTRUCTIONS:
- With a small, sharp knife, make cuts at an angle in 2 rows down each hot dog, about 1/2 inch apart, cutting partway into the hot dog. The cuts should look like rounded half circles.
- Mix together the chili sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Pour into a large ziplock bag, add hot dogs and let marinate for 15-20 minutes up to overnight.
- Light grill. Grill the hot dogs until nicely charred and the cuts open up, about 4-5 minutes total.
NOTES:
I used Heinz Chili Sauce. It is next to the ketchup.
You can use yellow or dijon mustard.
Can freeze leftover hot dogs.
